This Privacy Policy describes how packaged ("packaged," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use our website, application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). It also explains the choices and rights available to you regarding your information.
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Service.
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we process in connection with the Service, including our website at usepackaged.com and any associated applications. It does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that we do not own or control, even if you access them through a link on our Service.
packaged is the controller of personal information described in this Privacy Policy, except where otherwise indicated (for example, where our payment processor acts as controller of payment information it collects directly).
We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information we collect automatically, and information we receive from third parties who support the Service.
For clarity, and consistent with how many privacy laws categorize personal information, the categories of personal data we process are:
| Category | Examples | Collected? |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Email address, account ID | Yes |
| Contact information | Phone number (verification only) | Yes |
| Content data | Transcripts, reference images, direction notes | Yes |
| Commercial information | Subscription tier, billing status, transaction history | Yes (from payment processor) |
| Internet/network activity | IP address, browser/device type, usage logs | Yes |
| Financial information | Full payment card numbers | No — held only by our payment processor |
| Precise geolocation | GPS or device-level location | No |
| Government identifiers | Social Security number, passport, national ID | No |
| Biometric information | Fingerprints, facial recognition data | No |
| Sensitive personal information | Health, religious belief, sexual orientation, etc. | Not intentionally collected — see 6.3 |
We do not knowingly collect government identification numbers, biometric data, or precise real-time location data from users of the Service.

To communicate with you
We do not use your personal information for interest-based advertising, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.
Because the Service exists to process your video transcripts, we hold ourselves to a higher, more specific standard for content data than for ordinary account data. This section describes that handling in full.
Every transcript you submit is separated into its spoken content (used to generate your metadata) and any non-spoken content that was stripped out during processing (production notes, image-generation prompts, editing cues). Both are stored under your account and, over time, are used to build a channel profile — covering your niche, tone, recurring vocabulary, typical structure, and (if you've uploaded a thumbnail style reference) your visual style.
This channel profile is strictly per-account. It exists only to improve the quality of generations for your own account. It is never merged, pooled, or cross-referenced with any other customer's content or profile, and it is never used to train any shared or general-purpose model, whether ours or a third party's.
We separately maintain an aggregated analytics dataset describing how the Service is used across all customers — for example, which block types get regenerated most often, or how validation failures trend over time. This dataset is deliberately limited to structured counts and tags. It never includes your generated titles, descriptions, tags, or any other output text, and it never includes your transcript content. These two data flows — your per-account content profile, and the anonymized cross-account usage metrics — are kept architecturally and operationally separate, and are never recombined to reconstruct what a specific account generated.
We do not ask you for sensitive personal information. However, because transcripts are user-generated video scripts, they may incidentally reference sensitive topics (health, religion, political opinion, and similar categories) as part of your video's actual subject matter. We do not analyze transcript content for the purpose of extracting or categorizing this information about you personally; our compliance-flag feature identifies categories relevant to YouTube monetization policy (such as health-advice content or sponsored-content disclosure) as a service to you, the creator, not as profiling of you as our customer.
To generate metadata, your transcript is sent to our AI model provider (see Section 7) for processing at the time of generation. It is processed to produce your requested output and is not retained by the model provider for its own model training, under the terms of our agreement with that provider. [Specific data-retention and training-opt-out terms of the underlying AI provider agreement to be confirmed and cited here once finalized.]
We do not sell personal information. We share personal information only with the following categories of recipients, and only as necessary to operate the Service:
We do not share your information with data brokers, advertising networks, or other unrelated third parties.
We use a limited set of strictly necessary cookies to operate the Service — primarily to keep you signed in and to maintain basic security. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or similar technologies for marketing purposes. If this changes, we will update this section to name the specific technologies and vendors involved, and will provide any consent or opt-out mechanism required by applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 15. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
Communication preferences. You can unsubscribe from non-transactional marketing emails using the link included in those emails. You will continue to receive transactional messages related to your account and billing — including the renewal notice we send before every charge — regardless of your marketing preferences, since these are necessary for the Service to function as described in our billing terms.
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including encryption in transit, access controls limiting internal access to personal information to personnel who need it to perform their duties, and regular review of our infrastructure providers' security practices.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any applicable regulators as required by law.
Our infrastructure and service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms. [Specific transfer mechanisms to be confirmed once the company's registration jurisdiction and primary infrastructure regions are finalized, and reviewed by counsel against the locations of our actual customer base.]
We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
Specifically:
The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate the metadata you request from the transcript you provide. This is a requested output of the Service, produced at your direction and subject to your review before you use it — it is not an automated decision made about you as an individual that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and it does not involve profiling you for purposes unrelated to fulfilling your request. You always retain the choice to accept, regenerate, or discard any generated content before publishing it.
The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 15.
The Service may reference or link to third-party websites, tools, or services that we do not own or control (for example, YouTube itself, or a payment processor's own checkout page). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third-party service before providing it with personal information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Service, or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through an in-product notice before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after a revised Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the update.
